Prayer is the passport to peace

"Our Heavenly Father is aware of our needs and will help us as we call upon Him for assistance. I believe that no concern of ours is too small or insignificant. The Lord is in the details of our lives." Thomas S. Monson

I remember my first spiritual experience about the prayer. I was maybe 6, I just won a toy in a cereal box a few days before. I tried to find it, but it was lost.
I thought I was the unluckiest little girl ever, I really wanted to play with it... where was it?
I was really desperate. My parents smiled and told me "We have the solution to find it, but you have to make a little effort!". I was looking forward to know what was the miracle they were talking about, and with my biggest smile I've asked them to tell me, then they whispered "The prayer".

I knew what it was. They taught me how to pray in the primary, and I prayed everyday before eating or before sleeping. But.. Can I ask God where is my toy? I didn't know I could ask God something as unimportant as a toy. But my father told me that I could. "A toy is something important for a 6 years old girl, your Heavenly Father knows it. You just have to ask Him and believe He can help you to find it."
I believed my father. So, I knelt and prayed. I told my God that I was thankful for this toy, but that I had lost it. Can you help me to find it?

As soon as finished my prayer, I had the feeling that my toy was on a bookshelf, behind the books. I got up and ran into the living room. I took a random book in my hand and it happened.. my toy was there, just behind this book.

I will always remember the feeling I had at this exactly moment.. He hears me!
Now, more than 10 years later, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I can ask God everything I need, because He is my Father, and He loves me.
Our Heavenly Father answers our prayers. I know this.

In the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.. Amen
